Italy has told Iran that it has never taken part in any military initiative and has never authorised the use of bases for war actions against Iran.
Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said he spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a telephone conversation.

Tajani said Italy had never taken part in any military initiative and had never authorised the use of bases for actions against Iran, while respecting treaties with the United States.
Tajani seeks full Hormuz reopening for blocked Italian ships
He also called for the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to facilitate the passage of Italian cargo ships still blocked there.
The Italian foreign minister said the reopening of the Italian embassy in Tehran was a strong signal of dialogue and could help restore economic and cultural relations.
