The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved 15 development projects worth Rs34.74 billion in a meeting chaired by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
The CDWP approved projects worth Rs34.74 billion, while nine major projects with a total cost of Rs431.022 billion were recommended to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval.
Approved projects cover IT, health, energy and roads sectors
The approved projects cover information technology, health, energy and road sectors, according to the Ministry of Planning.
Another approved project included the “Provision of CT Scan and MRI Machines in DHQ Hospitals and Teaching Hospitals of AJK”, worth Rs5,483.290 million.
Establishment of e-sports arenas
The establishment of e-sports arenas and training centres in universities was also approved.
The CDWP approved the establishment of a Robotics Centre of Excellence, according to the official statement.
Smart electricity meters approved for Lahore installation
Modern smart electricity meters will be installed in Lahore under an approved project, the Ministry of Planning said.
The establishment of the Geo AI Development and Innovation Hub was also approved. The National Artificial Intelligence Programme was sent to ECNEC for further consideration.
The CDWP recommended the establishment of the National Emerging Technologies Data Centre.
Among the approved projects was the “Exploration of Radioactive Minerals, Marwat Range”, worth Rs1,440 million.
