Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in six different FIFA World Cup tournaments after finding the net for Portugal against Uzbekistan in Houston on Tuesday.

The Portuguese star made his World Cup debut in 2006 and has now scored 10 goals in World Cup competition. Ronaldo, 41, struck from close range in the sixth minute to secure a place in World Cup history.

Portugal captain under fire after DR Congo draw performance
The Portugal captain had faced criticism following a subdued display in his side's 1-1 draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo in their opening match of the tournament.
Before the Uzbekistan fixture, Ronaldo had gone 10 matches at major international tournaments without a goal and had recorded one assist.
Portuguese star's first world cup goal came against Iran in 2006
His achievement underlined a career spanning more than two decades. Ronaldo scored his first World Cup goal against Iran in 2006.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward made his international debut in 2003 and now plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo scored 28 goals in 30 league appearances this season.
He nearly opened the scoring after three minutes in Houston but failed to connect with a cross from Nuno Mendes before making amends shortly afterwards.
