United States Vice President JD Vance has said that the US and Iran have agreed to establish a direct communication channel involving Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
US-Iran military officials to meet in Doha to reduce conflict risk
In an interview with the British news outlet UnHerd, Vance said: "The arrangement is intended to reduce the risk of further conflict between Washington and Tehran. The military officials from both sides would meet in Doha, Qatar, to address disputes."

Vance said that the discussions would involve representatives from the IRGC and US Central Command working through points of disagreement.
He said that the United Arab Emirates had opened new lines of communication with Iran, including contacts involving the IRGC.
The US vice president said that these engagements include discussions on possible economic incentives, marking channels of contact that had not existed previously.
