Amid the ongoing excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico, where football fever has gripped fans worldwide, a bizarre and humorous video from Bangladesh has gone viral on social media.
A football supporter dyed his pet sheep in the colours of Argentina’s national team kit, blue and white, and began walking it along a public road. The video, shared on Instagram, shows a man walking calmly by the roadside while holding a rope tied to a sheep painted in Argentina’s colours.
The sheep’s wool has been carefully coloured in blue and white sections, giving it, from a distance, the appearance of a jersey associated with star footballer Lionel Messi.
Football fans reacted with mixed responses, with some describing the act as an unusual tribute, while others called it an extreme display of football passion.
Animal rights activists and social media users also expressed concern over the incident.
They said that despite its artistic appearance, the use of chemical dyes on animals could pose risks to their skin and overall health.
