Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Sunday that Iran has agreed to reduce its uranium enrichment levels and that there will be no obstruction to the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days.
Speaking to Al Arabiya TV on the sidelines of a four-country foreign ministers' meeting in Cairo, Dar said Washington and Tehran would hold bilateral talks on sanctions imposed on Iran.
He said Iran had agreed to lower its uranium enrichment levels and that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz would continue without disruption for the next 60 days.
Dar said the conflict in the Middle East had affected the entire world and expressed hope that the United States and Iran would reach a final agreement.
He said there was no reason to doubt the intentions of either Washington or Tehran. He added that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates had supported mediation efforts, while the issue of sanctions on Iran would come under discussion during negotiations with the United States.
