A regional meeting of foreign ministers in Cairo has welcomed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, describing it as a significant step towards reducing tensions and resolving disputes.
The gathering brought together the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, who discussed regional and international developments in detail.
The joint statement welcomed Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, noting that its role had been important in facilitating recent progress.

The ministers stressed the need to promote understanding, implement commitments, and ensure the success of post-negotiation phases.

Support for the Palestinian cause was reaffirmed, with the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem also reviewed during the discussions.
The participants agreed that continued consultation is necessary to achieve a fair and lasting peace across the Middle East.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar attended the meeting in Cairo and also participated in related diplomatic engagements on the sidelines.
He joined counterparts from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in reaffirming commitment to dialogue, diplomacy and regional cooperation under the R-4 framework.
A joint call was made on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where regional stability and bilateral relations were discussed.
The Egyptian President acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting de-escalation and diplomatic engagement in the region.
Separately, Dar held talks with the Egyptian foreign minister, reviewing bilateral ties and agreeing to strengthen cooperation in multiple sectors, including defence, health and economic fields.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in relations and agreed to enhance existing mechanisms of cooperation.
