Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Arshad Malik has called for the inclusion of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's portrait alongside Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the Rs5,000 currency note.
Speaking in the Punjab Assembly, Malik displayed a Rs5,000 note and said Nawaz Sharif's photograph should also appear alongside that of the founder of the nation.
He said Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan a nuclear power and played a key role in the country's development.
Malik said Nawaz Sharif expanded the road network and helped place the country on the path of progress.
He added that while Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah created Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif made the country a nuclear power.
