A new round of technical-level talks between the United States and Iran will take place in Switzerland on June 21, as efforts continue to advance agreements reached under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
According to the Foreign Office, the discussions will be held in the Swiss resort town of Bürgenstock and will focus on reviewing progress made since the landmark agreement was signed.
The Foreign Office announced that technical-level negotiations under the Islamabad MoU will be held on June 21, in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.
The talks are aimed at assessing developments and implementation efforts undertaken since the signing of the agreement between the United States and Iran.
Officials expect the discussions to focus on advancing commitments made under the framework established by the Islamabad MoU.
US and Iran to participate
Representatives from both the United States and Iran will attend the technical discussions.
The meeting marks the next stage in the diplomatic process launched after the signing of the Islamabad MoU, which laid the groundwork for continued dialogue between the two sides.

The talks are expected to review progress and identify areas requiring further technical and diplomatic engagement.
Pakistan, Qatar to continue mediation role
The Foreign Office said Pakistan and Qatar will participate in the talks as mediators.
Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating the dialogue process and helping both sides move forward on the agreements reached under the memorandum.

“Pakistan, in its role as mediator, will continue to facilitate the process with a view to advancing the agreements reached under the Islamabad MoU,” the Foreign Office said.
Iranian delegation leaves for Switzerland
Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Iran’s negotiating team will travel to Switzerland on Saturday evening. Al-Arabiya reports claimed that the team, led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, departed for Switzerland. They were accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who was already in Tehran.
The delegation is expected to join the technical discussions in Bürgenstock as preparations continue for the next phase of engagement between Tehran and Washington.
Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance had also said that talks with Iran were expected to continue on Sunday, as senior US officials remain engaged in high-level diplomatic discussions aimed at advancing a fragile ceasefire and broader nuclear-related agreements.

Vance described the diplomatic process as “progressing positively". He said the discussions are aimed at maintaining momentum and creating what he called a “real opportunity” for successful outcomes in the ongoing dialogue.
Senior US officials present in Switzerland
The US vice president noted that key American figures are already on the ground in Switzerland for the talks. He specifically mentioned that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner are currently present at the negotiation site.
Their presence underscores the high-level nature of the discussions taking place.
