United States President Donald Trump has said that Democrats need to understand the scale of the United States' victory over Iran.
Trump said in a statement issued on social media that Iran had been completely defeated in the recent conflict. He criticised former president Barack Obama, alleging that Obama provided Iran with billions of dollars and did not use the US military against Iran when it was necessary.
Trump said that Iran had to be brought under control. He added that the Iranian officials regarded Obama and former president Joe Biden as 'highly unsuccessful' leaders.
The US president said: "Iranian officials were 100 per cent correct in viewing Obama and Biden as ineffective leaders." He claimed that Iran had acted without restraint for 47 years before he returned to power.
Trump added that everything changed after his return to office and said that the United States had become strong once again.
