The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led government has decided to end its austerity and energy conservation measures, while maintaining regular business hours across the country.
Approval has been granted to immediately withdraw additional fuel conservation and austerity measures. Restrictions imposed from March 9 have been revoked under the decision.
Markets, shopping malls and bazaars will continue to close at 9pm, according to the Cabinet Division. Marriage halls, marriage marquees and event venues will be allowed to remain open until 10pm.
Restaurants, cafes and food outlets will continue their business operations until 11pm. Takeaway and home delivery services will remain exempt from closing time restrictions.
Pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories and clinics have also been exempted from closure timings. CNG stations, EV charging points, bakeries and tandoors will likewise remain outside the scope of restrictions.
IT companies, call centres and sports facilities have also been granted exemption from closing hours. It has been stated in the notification that other austerity measures introduced prior to the Middle East crisis will remain in force.
