French President Emmanuel Macron said leaders had unanimously welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran, which he said was secured by President Donald Trump.
Speaking at a news conference during the G7 summit, Macron described the accord as a positive development.
“We have unanimously welcomed the very good agreement reached between the US and Iran, which was secured by President Trump,” Macron said.
He said the agreement had the support of G7 leaders because it brought an end to a period of significant instability.
“This is an agreement that we support because it’s an agreement that ends a situation of great instability, the consequences of which for our economies were terrible,” he added.
