Turkish television actress Ece Irtem, best known for portraying Isil in the popular drama series 'One Love', has died at the age of 35 after a suspected heart attack.
Her lawyer, Uğur Gökkoyun has said that Irtem was found unconscious at her home on Monday afternoon, where she lived with her mother. He said the incident occurred suddenly and that despite immediate medical assistance, her life could not be saved.
The actress died only one day after celebrating her 35th birthday.
Gökkoyun said initial medical reports indicated that a heart attack was the likely cause of death. However, he added that the final cause would be confirmed after the release of the post-mortem report.
He also rejected as unfounded all speculation circulating on social media that the actress had taken her own life.
Ece Irtem was born on 14 June 1991 in Sivas, Türkiye. She graduated from the Opera and Vocal Performance Department of Yaşar University in 2014 and later received formal acting training at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Centre in Istanbul.
She rose to prominence through her role as Isil in the hit Turkish television drama 'One Love', a performance that established her among the country's emerging and talented actresses.
News of Irtem's death prompted an outpouring of grief across the Turkish entertainment industry and among her admirers.
