Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date has been revised to February 2028 as the music mogul continues to appeal his federal conviction.
According to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Combs is now expected to be released on February 23, 2028, marking a change from earlier projections that had placed his release in June 2028.
The adjustment follows multiple revisions made earlier this year, when his release date was first moved forward from April 25, 2028, to April 15, 2028, before the latest update.
Conviction and sentence
Combs was sentenced in October to four years and two months in federal prison after being convicted on charges related to transporting individuals across state lines for illicit sexual activities.
He was, however, acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, which could have resulted in a life sentence.
Prosecutors alleged that the rapper used private flights over several years to facilitate drug-fuelled encounters involving girlfriends and sex workers, a violation of the federal Mann Act.
Current custody and activities
The 56-year-old is currently held at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, a low-security facility.
Reports suggest that during his incarceration, Combs has been assigned duties in the prison library, including organizing books and assisting inmates.
His legal team continues to pursue an appeal, while his attorney has described him as remaining “remarkably positive” and hopeful about the future.
Since his sentencing, Combs and his lawyers have maintained that they are challenging aspects of the case. The revised release date comes amid ongoing legal proceedings and routine adjustments by prison authorities based on sentencing calculations and credits.
Despite the changes in timeline, no official indication has been given regarding a full overturn of the conviction.
