The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has secured its first representation in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly after four newly elected independent lawmakers officially joined the party.
The lawmakers met IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan and announced their decision to become part of the party, marking what party leaders described as a significant political development in the region.
Lawmakers who joined IPP
According to details, the four members include representatives from different districts of Gilgit-Baltistan:
- Anwar Ali (GB-23 Ganche)
- Asad Shafiq (GB-24 Ganche)
- Muhammad Dilpazir (GB-15 Diamer)
- Aman Ali (GB-21 Ghizer)
All four had been elected as independent candidates before formally aligning with IPP.
Welcoming the new members, Abdul Aleem Khan said the party would work “day and night” for the development and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said the inclusion of lawmakers marked IPP’s first representation in the GB Assembly and reflected growing public confidence in the party’s vision.
Development priorities for GB
The IPP leadership emphasized key development priorities for the region, including improvements in:
- Health facilities
- Education infrastructure
- Information technology
- Employment opportunities
- Tourism and infrastructure development
Party officials said Gilgit-Baltistan holds strong potential for tourism growth and required focused investment in modern infrastructure.
The newly joined members expressed full confidence in the leadership of Abdul Aleem Khan and the party’s development agenda.
They pledged to work for the progress and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan and support initiatives aimed at improving public services in the region.
