Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Wednesday that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget should not be presented until a meeting takes place with party founder Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar said the budget should be prepared in accordance with the wishes of Imran Khan. He said he had complete confidence in the provincial government and would support whatever decision is taken by the chief minister.
He added that the provincial administration enjoys his full trust and reiterated support for any decision made by the chief minister.
He also said that a memorandum of understanding on political reconciliation should be signed in Pakistan to strengthen democracy.
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has prepared two separate budgets for the 2026-27 fiscal year, according to government sources.
The first is an emergency three-month budget valued at more than Rs385 billion. The second is a full-year provincial budget with a proposed outlay of Rs2.275 trillion.
Both budget proposals remain under consideration as the provincial government finalises its fiscal strategy for the coming year.
