Security sources said Afghanistan and terrorism have become closely linked, while Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan have emerged as serious threats to Pakistan's security.
According to sources, Pakistan's principal demand from Afghanistan is that it immediately cease all support for terrorism and prevent its territory from being used for terrorist activities.
Security sources said all operations conducted inside Afghanistan were carried out with precision and on the basis of solid intelligence reports. The purpose was to target terrorist elements and their hideouts.
According to the sources, the Taliban regime lacks any meaningful regard for human rights and does not demonstrate adequate respect for the rights of women and children.
Security sources further said the Taliban regime's irresponsible and violent conduct leaves little room for constructive engagement between the two sides.
The sources added that Pakistan held extensive talks with the Afghan regime from 2021 to 2025. They said a lack of seriousness was consistently shown in preventing Afghan territory from being used for terrorism. A decision was taken to target terrorist hideouts.
