Pakistan has welcomed the announcement of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, describing it as a significant diplomatic breakthrough that could pave the way for lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
The development drew positive reactions from Pakistan’s top leadership, who praised diplomacy and reiterated the country’s commitment to supporting dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution.
President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed the announcement of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
Expressing optimism about the development, the president said he hoped the progress would pave the way for a final agreement between the two countries.
He added that the memorandum of understanding could lay the foundation for lasting and comprehensive peace across the region.

President Zardari said Pakistan was proud to support continuous dialogue and diplomacy during a difficult period marked by regional tensions and uncertainty.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar warmly welcomed the understanding reached between Washington and Tehran.
Dar said the important development was the result of sustained diplomatic engagement and the collective determination of friendly countries seeking a peaceful solution.
According to the deputy prime minister, the agreement is expected to boost stability and confidence in the global economy, particularly benefiting developing nations that are often vulnerable to geopolitical tensions.

Dar said Pakistan remained in continuous contact with all relevant parties throughout the negotiation process. He reiterated that Pakistan has consistently advocated tolerance, dialogue and constructive diplomacy as the best path toward resolving conflicts.
Dar also appreciated the confidence shown by both the United States and Iran in Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.

“The trust placed in Pakistan by the US and Iranian leadership is greatly appreciated,” he said.
The deputy prime minister commended the serious and responsible approach demonstrated by both countries in pursuing a peaceful settlement. He also expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, Egypt and the United Nations for their diplomatic contributions and efforts aimed at advancing dialogue.
Dar said Pakistan remains ready to provide all possible support and cooperation during the next phase of negotiations.

Looking ahead, Dar expressed confidence that the agreement scheduled to be signed on June 19 would serve as the foundation for durable peace, regional stability and economic prosperity.
