Pakistan Peoples Party Vice President Sherry Rehman has said the world is awaiting the expected signing of a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States.
She stated that, despite challenges, concerns and obstacles, Pakistan has not abandoned efforts for peace. In a statement on social media platform X, she said Pakistan has played a strong and effective diplomatic role in advancing the peace process. She added that Pakistan has shown consistent resolve for the promotion of peace and stability in the region.

She said that peace does not emerge automatically in complex and uncertain conditions, but requires continuous effort. Peace, she said, is the result of dialogue, wisdom and mutual understanding rather than conflict.
The PPP stalwart said Pakistan’s positive role in US-Iran talks is being widely acknowledged across the world. She said that, as the world awaits the signing of an MoU between rival sides, Islamabad has invested significant diplomatic capital in the process.
Sherry was of the view that despite challenges and an apparent spoiler, Pakistan did not give in to mediation fatigue.
She added that peace does not occur on its own, but is built on hope, rationality and sustained commitment to its fragile framework.
