Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call on Saturday from Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during which Qatar reiterated its full support for Pakistan’s mediation efforts.
During the conversation, PM Shehbaz conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the Qatari emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and to the people of Qatar. The Qatari premier reciprocated the sentiments.

The prime minister expressed appreciation for Qatar’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s peace efforts throughout the Gulf crisis and said a peace agreement was expected to be signed by the relevant parties shortly.
Acknowledging Pakistan’s diplomatic role, Sheikh Mohammed praised the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in advancing peace initiatives. He said Qatar was proud to support Pakistan’s endeavours and expressed hope that the efforts would contribute to lasting regional peace.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also renewed his invitation to the Qatari emir to undertake an official visit to Pakistan in the near future, in line with previous understandings between the two leaders.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days.
