Talks between the United States and Iran remain on track despite renewed military escalation between the two sides.
A diplomatic source says overnight negotiations continued even after fresh exchanges of strikes.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has confirmed it is still actively engaged in mediation efforts to reduce tensions.
According to CNN, negotiations aimed at reaching a deal between Washington and Tehran are still progressing after overnight discussions.
A diplomatic source familiar with the situation said the talks continued even as military tensions escalated on the ground.
The report comes as both countries traded air attacks for a second consecutive day, raising concerns that the conflict could derail diplomatic efforts.
Former US President Donald Trump warned of further strikes if Iran does not agree to a peace deal immediately.
Concerns over rising hostilities
The renewed exchange of attacks between the US and Iran has complicated already fragile diplomatic efforts.
Despite the escalation, officials involved in the discussions insist that negotiations have not collapsed.
Reuters noted it could not immediately verify the details of the ongoing talks.
Pakistan’s mediation efforts continue
Separately, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the country remains engaged in efforts to help de-escalate the situation between the two sides.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan still believes in a diplomatic solution despite the worsening situation.
“It is hard to be an optimist in the new exchange of hostilities. We haven’t lost hope, we remain engaged,” he told journalists.
He urged that Pakistan should not be excluded from mediation efforts, saying: “Let’s not draw curtains on Pakistan’s mediation approach.”
Andrabi added that Pakistan is deeply concerned about regional tensions and continues to push for dialogue and a negotiated settlement.
He also confirmed that Pakistan’s interior minister recently visited Tehran, carrying messages and a letter from the prime minister as part of ongoing diplomatic outreach.
