The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert for thunderstorms and hailstorms across the province, warning that rain is likely in most districts from June 11 to 13.
The authority has directed commissioners and deputy commissioners across Punjab to remain alert and take precautionary measures in view of the expected weather conditions.
According to the PDMA Punjab, rain is likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Layyah and Faisalabad during the forecast period.
Rainfall is also expected in Jhang, Okara, Gujranwala, Hafizabad and Wazirabad.
More districts likely to receive rain
The PDMA said Sargodha, Mianwali, Sheikhupura, Khushab, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar may also receive rain.
The authority also forecast rain in Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Kot Addu and Mandi Bahauddin.
Rain is also likely in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhang and surrounding areas, according to the PDMA alert. The weather warning covers a large part of the province, with thunderstorms and hailstorms expected in different districts.
The PDMA has issued an alert to commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province.
Local administrations have been advised to stay prepared and ensure timely response in case of any emergency caused by rain, hailstorms or thunderstorms.
KP districts placed on alert as rain
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for rain, thunderstorms and strong winds across most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Wednesday until June 13.
An urban flooding alert has been issued for Peshawar, Mardan and Nowshera due to the risk of heavy rainfall.
The PDMA said strong winds and hailstorms could damage vulnerable structures, electricity poles and solar panels.
Rain and hailstorms are expected in Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan and Abbottabad.
Rain accompanied by strong winds is likely in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda and Swabi.
Rain has also been forecast for Kurram, Khyber, Bajaur, Mohmand, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Tank.
The PDMA warned of possible landslides in upper districts and rising water levels in local streams and waterways.
There is also a risk of flash flooding in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Malakand and Kohistan, according to the authority.
District administrations and rescue agencies have been directed to ensure precautionary measures in advance.
The PDMA advised the public to avoid floodwater, streams, nullahs and other hazardous locations during the spell of severe weather.
Authorities have also been instructed to ensure the cleaning of drainage systems and take immediate measures to prevent urban flooding.
A fresh spell of rain is expected across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as weather conditions intensify in the province.
