Iran says it is re-evaluating its negotiations with Washington following recent US attacks, with officials warning that ongoing tensions and alleged ceasefire violations are undermining diplomatic progress.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said a stable and calm environment is essential for advancing any meaningful negotiations.
Esmail Baghaei said Iran is now reassessing its diplomatic engagement with the United States after the recent escalation in tensions.
He stated that talks are being reviewed in light of what Tehran describes as repeated hostile actions.
According to him, maintaining calm conditions is crucial for progress in any negotiation process.
US and Israel accused of ceasefire violations
Baghaei accused both the United States and Israel of repeatedly violating a ceasefire agreement.
He said these actions are damaging efforts aimed at sustaining peace and stability in the region.
The spokesperson also criticized what he called contradictory statements from Washington, saying they are further harming the diplomatic process.
Diplomatic process under pressure
Iranian officials say the current situation is placing significant pressure on ongoing diplomatic efforts.
They argue that inconsistent messaging and continued military pressure are weakening trust between the parties.
Despite this, Tehran maintains that dialogue remains possible if conditions improve.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said external powers cannot force Iran into submission through intimidation, threats, or coercion.
He stressed that Iran will firmly defend its sovereignty and national rights under all circumstances.
Pezeshkian said those who believe Iran can be destroyed are “only dreaming,” adding that the country is ready to confront any adversary with “full courage, confidence, and calmness.”
He also said war is not in the interest of any country but warned that Iran would not back down if conflict is imposed.
The president accused external forces of attempting to push Iran into confrontation with Arab countries, saying such efforts had failed.
