Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf in Tehran, where the latter greeted him with marked warmth.
According to details, the Field Marshal is on a visit to Iran, during which he is to hold important meetings with the Iranian leadership.
Separately, Iranian Parliament Speaker Baqer Qalibaf said in a statement that a ceasefire in Lebanon is as important as it is for Iran, adding that the enemy should be compelled through negotiations to accept a permanent ceasefire.
The Iranian vice president said in a statement that they would not surrender to demands, adding that the balance of power in the region would change after the war, sanctions would lose their meaning, and the Strait of Hormuz should be organised in line with national interests.
It is pertinent to note that Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue, while in southern Lebanon one civilian was killed and two were injured in an attack. Israel has also destroyed a bridge linking southern Lebanon with other parts of the country.
