In the context of ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, accompanied by a high-level delegation.
A senior Pakistani delegation, led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran as part of the process linked to the US-Iran talks. The Field Marshal held a meeting with the Iranian freign Minister alongside his delegation.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi welcomed the Field Marshal on his arrival in Tehran, stating that the hosting of negotiations reflected the strong relations between Pakistan and Iran. He said both countries remained firmly committed to peace and stability in the region.
Earlier, upon arrival in Tehran, the Field Marshal was received by Abbas Araghchi. The army chief saluted his host, who stepped forward and embraced him. The two exchanged warm smiles and a firm handshake.
During the important visit, discussions are expected on the second round of Iran-US negotiations. According to the ISPR, the visit forms part of efforts aimed at mediation.
Previously, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei had said that messages were being exchanged with the United States through Pakistan, and that Iran would host the Pakistani delegation as part of the continuation of negotiations.
