The European Union has said that diplomacy is essential to resolving the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
An EU foreign affairs spokesperson stated that the bloc supports mediation efforts and praised Pakistan for its role in facilitating dialogue. The spokesperson added that Brussels is ready to assist in mediation to ensure continuity of peace talks.
Earlier, Australia’s Foreign Minister urged the United States and Iran to return to the negotiating table, describing the breakdown of an agreement-based process as disappointing. A British health minister also expressed regret over the failure to reach an accord.
According to Russian media, President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which they discussed US-Iran talks held in Islamabad.
President Putin said Russia is ready to support efforts for peace in the Middle East, stressing that the conflict must be resolved through diplomacy. He added that Moscow is prepared to act as a mediator to help establish lasting stability in the region.
