Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqai signaled that no immediate agreement was expected in talks with the United States.
He emphasized that diplomacy remains ongoing, with Iran committed to protecting its national interests.
Esmail Baqai said it was unrealistic to expect a final agreement in a single session, noting that “no one expected an agreement so soon.”
He added that the talks included several new topics, reflecting the complexity of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Key issues discussed
According to Baqai, discussions over the past 24 hours covered major issues, including the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s nuclear program, war damages, sanctions, and the broader goal of ending conflict in the region.

He said numerous messages and proposals were exchanged between both sides during intensive, round-the-clock negotiations.
Iran stresses rights and red lines
The Iranian spokesperson stressed that the success of diplomacy depends on the seriousness and good faith of the other side.
He urged counterparts to avoid “unnecessary demands” and recognize Iran’s legitimate rights and interests.
Baqai also said Iran remains determined to use all available means, including diplomacy, to safeguard its national interests and the well-being of its people.
Appreciation for Pakistan’s role
Baqai expressed gratitude to Pakistan for hosting the talks and facilitating dialogue.
He noted that Pakistan played a positive and constructive role in advancing the negotiation process.
He also confirmed that communication and consultation with Pakistan and other friendly countries will continue moving forward.
The spokesperson underlined that nothing should distract Iran from its responsibility toward its country and civilization.
He said past experiences, including what he described as breaches of promise by the US and actions by Israel, have strengthened Iran’s resolve in negotiations.
