The Punjab government has introduced a major change in the academic schedule, reducing physical classes to four days a week.
The move aims to ensure continuity in education while allowing flexibility through online learning.
New academic schedule announced
The Punjab government has decided that schools, colleges, and universities will now operate physically only four days a week.
According to the new schedule, classes will be held on campus from Monday to Thursday, while the remaining days will shift to online learning.
Online classes for three days
As per instructions issued by the Punjab Education Department, online classes will be allowed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
This applies to all educational institutions, including both government and private colleges and universities.
Minister confirms flexible learning approach
Punjab’s Education Minister confirmed that institutions are permitted to conduct online classes during the three off-campus days.
The aim is to ensure that academic activities continue without disruption, despite the reduced number of physical class days.
Implementation across all institutions
Authorities have clarified that the decision will be implemented across all universities and colleges in Punjab.
Under this policy, institutions can continue teaching for four days on campus, while maintaining online engagement for the rest of the week.
Focus on continuity in education
Officials say the inclusion of online classes ensures that **students do not face any academic loss.
The hybrid model is designed to balance in-person learning with digital education, offering flexibility while maintaining standards.
