Prices rose during the second week of Ramadan, with an increase recorded in the cost of several essential commodities.
13 items, including meat, mash pulse, gur and garlic, became dearer, while prices of eleven items – including flour, tomatoes, chana pulse and cooking oil – recorded a decline.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, prices of 13 essential items increased during the past week. The price of live broiler chicken rose by ten per cent, while bananas became dearer by up to four per cent.
The price of LPG increased by 5.61 per cent, petrol by three per cent and diesel by 1.84 per cent. Garlic, beef, mutton, mash pulse and gur were also among the commodities that recorded an increase.
On a weekly basis, tomatoes, eggs, onions, potatoes, flour, chana pulse, moong pulse and cooking oil became slightly cheaper, while prices of 27 items remained stable.
