China has voiced serious concern over rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, urging both sides to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation.
Responding to the Afghan Taliban’s aggression against Pakistan, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said it is closely monitoring developments and is ready to continue playing a constructive role.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Pakistan and Afghanistan are close neighbours — and both are also neighbors of China. Beijing is closely watching the current situation and is deeply concerned about the escalation of the conflict, the spokesperson stated.

China also expressed sincere regret over the casualties reported in the conflict.
Support against terrorism
The spokesperson reaffirmed that China supports action against all forms of terrorism. This position, officials indicated, remains consistent with Beijing’s broader regional security policy and its opposition to extremism in all manifestations.
China appealed to both sides to exercise restraint and forbearance amid heightened tensions.
The Foreign Ministry urged Pakistan and Afghanistan to solve their differences and disputes through dialogue and consultation rather than confrontation.

According to Beijing, maintaining regional stability is in the shared interest of all neighboring countries.
China’s mediation efforts
The spokesperson revealed that China has already been making efforts, through its own resources, to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Beijing signaled its readiness to continue playing a constructive role in improving relations between the two countries.
The statement reflects China’s growing diplomatic engagement as the situation between Islamabad and Kabul draws international attention.
Beijing’s response to Afghan aggression
In its response to the Afghan Taliban’s aggression against Pakistan, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reiterated its serious concern over tensions.
China emphasized the importance of stability along the border and peaceful resolution of disputes through sustained diplomatic efforts.
Earlier, Russia and Iran also offered to mediate talks, urging an immediate ceasefire and diplomatic engagement.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has urged Pakistan and Afghanistan to implement an immediate ceasefire amid rising hostilities. Moscow emphasized that both countries should resolve their differences through talks rather than confrontation.
Separately, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi offered Tehran’s support in easing tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
In a statement posted on X, Araghchi said Iran is ready to help “facilitate dialogue” between Pakistan and Afghanistan and provide all possible assistance to promote mutual cooperation.
