Security forces have killed 10 terrorists during a sanitization operation in Zhob district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
The terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple sabotage activities in the area.
According to the ISPR, the latest action follows an intelligence-based operation conducted on February 24, 2026, in which eight Indian-sponsored Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, also referred to as Fitna Al Khwarij, were neutralized.
On February 25, 2026, security forces launched a comprehensive area sanitization operation in Zhob district to track down remaining terrorists hiding in the region.
During the operation, troops tracked terrorists across multiple routes and engaged their positions. After an intense exchange of fire, 10 terrorists were killed.
The ISPR stated that the slain terrorists were affiliated with what it described as an Indian proxy group, Fitna al Khwarij. They were allegedly involved in numerous terrorist activities in the region.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were recovered from the killed terrorists during the operation.
Ongoing sanitisation
The military’s media wing said sanitization operations are continuing to eliminate any other terrorists present in the area.
The operation is part of the broader counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies have reiterated their resolve to continue operations at full pace to eradicate what they termed foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
