Saqib Chadhar alleges blackmail, money transfers and threats
A legal battle between actress Momina Iqbal and Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar has taken a new turn after the lawmaker submitted a statement to the NCCIA detailing allegations involving money transfers, blackmail and personal disputes.
According to the statement submitted by the PML-N MPA and his wife Samira Khan, Chadhar met Momina Iqbal in 2020 and soon developed a close relationship with her.
In his statement, Chadhar said he travelled with Momina Iqbal several times within Pakistan and abroad. He claimed that he personally bore all expenses during these trips.
Chadhar alleged that Momina Iqbal and her family hid information about her previous marriage and divorce from him. He said he refused to marry her after learning about the matter.
Relationship ended in Aug 2025
The MPA stated that he ended his relationship with Momina Iqbal in August 2025. He claimed that Momina Iqbal was fully aware of his existing marriage.
According to Chadhar, call detail record data is also available to support his claim.
Claims of university fee payments
Chadhar alleged that, at Momina Iqbal’s request, he paid 13,000 Australian dollars for her sister Rimsha Iqbal’s university fees. He further claimed that Rimsha later received 10,000 Australian dollars from him through blackmail.
According to the statement, Chadhar alleged that the blackmail began after he refused to marry Momina Iqbal because he was already married.
Saqib Chadhar also alleged that Rs8.3 million was transferred to Momina Iqbal’s account at different times. He claimed these financial transactions were part of the wider dispute now being examined by the authorities.
Allegations over photos and videos
The MPA claimed that Momina Iqbal’s mobile phone contains several photos and videos. He alleged that suspicious individuals threatened to make those photos and videos viral.
Chadhar said Momina Iqbal and Rimsha Iqbal were asked to stop sharing the photos and videos.
Chadhar also alleged that Momina Iqbal kept inciting his wife, Samira Khan, to seek a divorce. His statement claims there are contradictions and misrepresentations in applications submitted to the NCCIA and police.
He described Momina Iqbal’s application as false and baseless.
Threat allegation involving fiancé
The MPA further claimed that Momina Iqbal’s fiancé, Hamza, had threatened to kill him. According to Chadhar, an FIR has been registered in Chiniot in connection with that threat.
The matter remains part of an ongoing legal dispute between actress Momina Iqbal and MPA Saqib Chadhar.
The latest statement submitted to the NCCIA has brought forward serious allegations from Chadhar and his wife, while the case continues before relevant authorities.
