President Donald Trump has stated that the United States is close to a deal with Iran.
In an interview with NBC, he said that during a brief four-week ceasefire, introduced upon the request of several respected figures, many parties were involved, with Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif playing an important role.
He stated that he does not want Lebanon to be part of any short-term arrangement with Iran.
According to his remarks, under the initial terms, frozen Iranian assets would not be released, nor would sanctions be lifted, although a review could be considered later if Iran’s conduct improves.
He added that if an agreement is not reached, the United States would still achieve its objectives, and in any outcome victory would be claimed.
