Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Doha on Tuesday, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
The leaders reviewed the full scope of Pakistan–Qatar relations and exchanged views on regional and global developments. They underscored the longstanding fraternal ties between the two nations and expressed satisfaction over growing momentum in political, economic and institutional engagement.
Talks focused on strengthening collaboration in trade and investment, energy, defence, labour mobility and cultural exchange. Both sides highlighted the role of the joint task force established to accelerate cooperation and stressed the importance of implementing outcomes from recent high-level engagements through platforms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission and Bilateral Political Consultations.
Regional developments, including the situation in Gaza and broader Gulf security dynamics, were also discussed. Sharif commended Qatar’s diplomatic efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation, while both leaders emphasized peaceful dispute resolution in line with international law and the United Nations Charter.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir and senior officials were also present.
