Security forces killed Indian-backed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
The operation followed credible reports about the presence of foreign terrorists in the area.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan after receiving information about foreign elements linked to the Indian proxy “Fitna-ul-Kharij.”
The ISPR said the forces effectively targeted the hideout during the operation. A heavy exchange of fire took place between terroristsand security personnel.
Four terrorists killed in firefight
The military’s media wing confirmed that four Indian-backed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists, also referred to as Khawarij, were killed during the intense gun battle.
Security officials recovered arms and ammunition from the slain militants. According to the statement, the individuals were involved in several acts of terrorism in the area.
The ISPR stated that a clearance and sanitization operation is currently underway in Dera Ismail Khan. The objective is to eliminate any other possible terroristswho may still be present in the vicinity.
The spokesperson emphasized that operations will continue until the area is fully cleared of hostile elements.
Anti-terror campaign to continue
The military reiterated that the anti-terrorism campaign by security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full speed.
The ISPR added that these efforts are being carried out under the National Action Plan’s framework of “Determination of Stability,” reaffirming the state’s resolve to eliminate terrorism.
