Pakistani actors Gohar Rasheed and Kubra Khan are once again making headlines, this time for candid remarks about marriage. Appearing on a Ramzan show, the couple spoke openly about how relationships evolve after Nikah.
Gohar Rasheed and Kubra Khan tied the knot in February 2025 in Makkah, in an intimate destination wedding attended by close family members and friends, including their parents and siblings.
Their Nikah ceremony in Makkah quickly went viral on social media and trended for days. The event also sparked a new trend of celebrities choosing Makkah or Medina for their Nikah ceremonies.
More than a year into their marriage, the couple says they are happy and enjoying this new chapter of life.
During the show, they discussed life after marriage and reflected on how their relationship has evolved since their Nikah in Makkah.
“People do change after marriage”
Speaking about women changing after marriage, Gohar Rasheed said that while they were close friends and knew each other well before tying the knot, marriage brings new dimensions to a relationship.
“Yes, we were close friends, we knew each other well, but in all honesty, people do change after marriage,” he shared.
He added that personalities can evolve, and sometimes it feels like starting life with a new person. However, he described this discovery process as the beauty of Nikah — learning new things about each other every day while still remaining the same individuals at heart.
Kubra’s candid response
Kubra Khan also shared a light-hearted moment from their early days of marriage.
“We had some initial fights about this, where he complained that I had turned into a ‘typical wife,’” she revealed.
Laughing, she added, “Yes, because I am your wife.”
Her response drew smiles from the audience and highlighted the natural adjustments couples go through after marriage.
Talking about their decision to have their Nikah in Makkah, Kubra said it was something they had both discussed long before marriage.
“The funny thing is, we were friends and discussed everything regarding our marriage. From day one, I told him I wanted to do my Nikah in Mecca. He said he felt the same,” she shared.
She explained that once they decided to marry, it felt inevitable that their Nikah would take place in Makkah. The presence of close friends at the ceremony made the occasion even more special.
