Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif represented Pakistan at the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington. He joined senior US officials and global leaders to help shape a shared vision for the future of Gaza, reflecting ongoing diplomatic coordination between the two countries.
The meeting underscored Pakistan’s role in international discussions on peace and regional stability.
$22.4bn Sindh School Meals Program launched
The US Department of Agriculture announced the launch of the Sindh School Meals Program, allocating 22.4 billion rupees to support more than 200,000 young Pakistanis across 1,300 schools.
The initiative aims to provide nutritious school meals, clean water, and improved sanitation facilities to help students learn and grow in a healthier environment.

According to the US Mission, the program aligns with the Trump administration’s “America First” foreign assistance policy, which focuses on helping countries become more self-sufficient. The statement noted that the generosity of the American people serves as a foundation for Pakistanis to take greater ownership of their futures.
Expanding US-Pakistan tech partnerships
Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker convened representatives from 25 U.S. companies along with senior Pakistani officials to explore new opportunities for strengthening US-Pakistan technology partnerships.
The meeting focused on fostering collaboration in innovation, digital growth, and business development between the two countries. Officials described the engagement as part of broader efforts to deepen economic ties and encourage private-sector cooperation.
The EducationUSA spring college recruitment tour also concluded in Islamabad this week. Sixteen representatives from US universities visited Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, engaging with thousands of Pakistani students interested in pursuing higher education in the United States.
The outreach aimed to provide information on academic programs, admissions, and scholarship opportunities.
