Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has said Pakistan received an extraordinary reception at the Board of Peace meeting in Washington, calling it a moment of pride for the nation.
In a special address, he said the event reflected Pakistan’s growing stature on the global stage and the success of its foreign policy under the current leadership.
Tarar said Pakistan was warmly welcomed at the Board of Peace meeting, describing it as a significant diplomatic achievement.
According to the information minister, US President Donald Trump praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during the meeting. He added that the US president appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting world peace, saying the recognition has enhanced the country’s national prestige.
Tarar said it is a matter of pride for Pakistanis living around the world that the US president publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s leadership. He described the development as evidence that Pakistan is emerging as an important and effective player in global affairs.

“This is a manifestation of the success of foreign policy,” Tarar said, emphasizing that the achievement was the result of teamwork, with the prime minister and the field marshal playing a key role.
Pakistan’s rising global position
The information minister said that today Pakistan’s prestige has increased on the global stage. He noted that there was a time when the country was facing diplomatic isolation, but due to the effective strategy of the current leadership, Pakistan has now assumed an important and prominent role on major global issues.
“When leadership is honest and puts national interest first, the results are always positive,” he said.
Strong stance on Palestine at international fora
Tarar particularly praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s advocacy for the Palestinian people. He said the prime minister has strongly raised his voice in favor of Palestinians at every major forum, including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
According to Tarar, the prime minister clearly stated that Palestinians have a right to their land and that, in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions, they must be granted the right to self-determination.

He stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is indispensable for lasting peace in the region.
“These points are actually the voice of the hearts of the Palestinian people,” Tarar said, adding that it is an honor for every Muslim that Pakistan’s leadership has interpreted and presented these sentiments so clearly.
Talks between PM and Trump
At the end of the Board of Peace meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Donald Trump held talks in what Tarar described as a pleasant atmosphere. He said the body language of both leaders reflected mutual trust and warmth, calling it another sign of Pakistan’s increasing global importance.
Tarar said President Trump has taken a good step by convening the Peace Board and noted that the forum has the capacity to establish peace. He remarked that any efforts made for peace would remain insufficient. He emphasized that Pakistan has the capacity to play the role of mediator and has already achieved successes on the international front.
“Our efforts are for the protection of the rights of the Palestinians,” he said, adding that Palestine has always praised Pakistan’s role.
The prime minister, he reiterated, has spoken about implementing United Nations resolutions and about the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, stressing once again that Palestinians have the right to their own land.
