Naqvi said: "The Shaheen Chowk project was opened to the public at the year’s end. He said the Capital Development Authority, contractors and relevant departments completed the project jointly." He termed it as another major milestone of the year.
Naqvi said: "The decision to open the project immediately was taken to improve the flow of traffic." He said several major development schemes were completed successfully during the year. "The Serena Chowk project was also completed this year. The Murree Road underpass was among the projects completed during the year. The Shaheen Chowk project also reached completion this year, while the Business Station Centre project was likewise completed within the same period," he added.
He said the completion of the Expressway flyover was also made possible this year. "Dozens of development projects were completed within a single year. The government’s foremost priority was to preserve the city’s appearance, and special attention was given to quality and durability in development works."
"Emphasis was placed on completing all projects within the stipulated time. Work to rehabilitate damaged roads and deteriorated infrastructure is continuing," he maintained.
The interior minister said Vision 2027 will include details of projects planned for the next two years. He said major development targets will be achieved over the coming two years. "Practical work on the jail project is currently under way.
