Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is trending worldwide after a tense encounter with a fan at an airport, a moment captured on camera and widely shared on social media. The footage shows a side of the cricketer that fans rarely see.
The incident occurred while Bumrah was waiting in a check-in queue. Reports and viral videos indicate that a fan began recording a selfie video of the cricketer without his consent.
Despite Bumrah’s repeated polite requests for the fan to stop filming and respect his privacy, the individual continued to follow him closely with the camera rolling.
The exchange, as seen in the clip, went as follows:
- Fan: "Aapke saath hi jaunga sir main" (I’ll go with you only, sir).
- Bumrah: "Phone gir gya aapka to mereko bolna nahi" (If your phone falls, don’t blame me).
- Fan: "Koi baat nahi sir" (That’s okay, sir).
- Bumrah: "Cool."
Frustrated by the persistent intrusion, Bumrah finally acted. After saying “Cool,” he grabbed the phone from the fan’s hand and tossed it aside before proceeding with his check-in.

The video has sparked a heated online discussion, with some criticizing the pacer for “arrogant behaviour,” while many others support his right to personal space.
While Bumrah is currently leading India in the T20I series against South Africa, this off-field incident has quickly become the most talked-about moment of the day.
