Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has become an 'instrument of the enemy'.
Addressing party workers in Lahore, Tarar said that PTI seeks to weaken Pakistan’s defence. He added that the fear of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) falls upon the enemy. He said the sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan should feel ashamed for speaking against the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Tarar said that during the PTI era, the issues of Kashmir and Palestine were sidelined. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been left in ruins over the past 12 years, adding that the PTI had not initiated a single development project in the province.
The information minister said that the PTI members make statements against the armed forces and martyrs on social media. He added that they value personal ego over the national interest.
He continued to take a swipe at the PTI, saying, "They desire to remain in power permanently. When asked about the £190 million corruption, they blame the army."
Tarar said that on May 9, the three sisters of Imran Khan were present at the Corps Commander House. He maintained that they carried out actions intended by the enemy, aimed at weakening the defence of the country and the armed forces.
