Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty called on Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Monday marking an important diplomatic engagement aimed at reinforcing strategic relations between the two countries.
As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting took place at GHQ in Rawalpindi, where both dignitaries held wide-ranging discussions.
Focus on defence, security cooperation, military coordination
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the state of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Egypt, described by ISPR as ties between “two brotherly countries.”
A key portion of the discussion centred on defence and security cooperation, including military-to-military engagement, training exchanges, and collaborative initiatives tied to regional peace and stability.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen coordination and deepen the long-standing relationship across defence and broader strategic domains.
Egypt conveys goodwill, interest in expanded cooperation
The visiting minister conveyed warm greetings from Egypt's leadership, expressing Cairo’s continued desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan across all spheres -- political, economic, defence, and strategic.
He emphasized Egypt’s interest in robust and future-focused engagement, highlighting the shared priorities of both nations amid changing geopolitical dynamics.
Both delegations underscored the significance of sustained high-level interactions to address emerging regional and global challenges.
With security landscapes in the Middle East and South Asia evolving rapidly, Pakistan and Egypt reiterated the need for close coordination to maintain stability and strengthen mutual interests.
