Sri Lankan media reported that Charith Asalanka faces possible removal from the captaincy after his withdrawal from the Pakistan tour.
According to the reports, he urged players to cancel the tour and left it incomplete before departing for Sri Lanka. Asalanka had already withdrawn from the triangular tournament. Following his exit, selectors appointed Dasun Shanaka as captain of the T20 side.
Sri Lankan outlets said that Asalanka’s decision to step back from the Pakistan tour led to the likelihood of his dismissal.
