President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed their resolve to eradicate foreign-backed terrorists and their facilitators during a meeting held at the President House on Tuesday.
The meeting reviewed the overall political and security situation in the country. Both leaders strongly condemned recent acts of terrorism and reiterated their determination to continue decisive action against those involved in such attacks.
Chairman Senate Yusuf Raza Gillani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President and Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also attended the meeting. Federal Ministers Mohsin Naqvi, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Azam Nazeer Tarar and Khalid Hussain Magsi were present as well.
The president and the prime minister expressed their firm commitment to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan and to ensure lasting peace and stability in the country.
