Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said on Wednesday that the 27th amendment relates to the governance, defence and provincial coordination.
Addressing a press conference flanked by the MQM-P leaders in Islamabad, Siddiqui said that the MQM-P has contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the 27th constitutional amendment.
He made it clear that people were being contacted over the 27th constitutional amendment, saying that the constitution is amended when necessary.
Siddiqui underscored the importance of holding the timely local elections.

Separately, Senator Faisal Vawda has sought the support of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman over the tabling of the 27th constitutional amendment.
Speaking to media after meeting the JUI-F supremo, Vawda said: "I and Fazl do not discuss about the numbers. The problem is not about the numbers, but it is important to take Fazlur Rehman into confidence."
