The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has directed the public to report anti‑state content on social media and the internet to the relevant platform and to the PTA for removal or blocking.
The PTA said the public should report material that attacks the defence, integrity and security of Pakistan to the National Counter‑Terrorism and Cybersecurity Intelligence Agency (NCCIA) and to the PTA.
Moreover, the PTA said the PECA Act makes online sharing of content that targets Pakistan’s defence, integrity and security an illegal and punishable offence.
The PTA said that if members of the public find anti‑state content on social media or the internet, they should report it to the relevant social media platform and to the PTA.
