Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said on Tuesday that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad is expected to return to Pakistan on October 9 (Thursday).
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dar made it clear that arrangements for Mushtaq’s return to Pakistan have been completed. Dar said he spoke with Ahmad by telephone after arriving in Islamabad from Malaysia. The conversation took place through Pakistan’s Ambassador in Amman.

Dar maintained: "Ex-senator Mushtaq is in good health and high spirits." He appreciated Mushtaq’s courage and resolve for joining the Sumud Flotilla, which aimed to break the siege and deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
"Mushtaq expressed gratitude to the Foreign Office for facilitating contact with him in Tel Aviv through a friendly European mission, and for providing full support and safety through the Embassy in Amman," added Dar.
He said: "The Foreign Office has made arrangements for Senator Mushtaq’s return to Pakistan on October 9."
