The Interior Ministry has made prior approval mandatory for any meetings between its officers and foreign nationals, according to a recent circular.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, instructions have been issued to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Islamabad Police. Officers must obtain approval from the Interior Secretary before accepting any official or personal invitations.
The circular confirmed that officers must also seek approval before holding meetings with representatives of foreign missions or international organisations.
It added that any meetings held without such approval will constitute a breach of Government Servant Rules.
No officer of the ministry was permitted to engage in discussions with foreigners without prior clearance.
The circular directs all concerned departments and officers to comply fully with these instructions.
