The cyclone Shakti in the Arabian Sea has intensified and become a severe cyclone.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, the Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its seventh alert.
According to the alert, Shakti currently lies approximately 322 kilometres south-southwest of Karachi. The cyclone will move west and southwest over the next 24 hours before changing course to the east and northeast, gradually weakening.
The PMD has warned of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at some locations in the coastal districts of Sindh, including Badin, Thatta, Sajawal and Jamshoro. Rain may also fall in parts of Karachi.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into deep sea waters until October 5.
