Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan achieved a historic victory by defeating the enemy in war, earning respect worldwide and presenting the sentiments of the Pakistani people at the United Nations.
Speaking to the Pakistani community in London, the prime minister said Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir issue was strongly defended during the UN General Assembly session.
He added that the international community was reminded of the sacrifices of women and children in Gaza, a concern shared by several Muslim leaders.
Shehbaz Sharif said his speech at the UN fully reflected the aspirations of the people of Pakistan and highlighted the country’s stance with clarity.
Meeting with US President Trump
PM Shehbaz confirmed that he had his first meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, describing it as “fruitful” and held in a pleasant atmosphere.
According to him, Trump also chaired a meeting where the Gaza situation was discussed in detail, with outcomes expected to be shared soon. Sharif expressed hope that Pakistan-US relations will strengthen further following this engagement.
Successes in multiple fronts
Highlighting achievements from his recent visit, the Prime Minister said Pakistan has made progress in the military, diplomatic, and economic fields.
“Pakistan’s honor and dignity have increased. We won the war, defeated the enemy, and Allah Almighty has raised the glory and splendor of Pakistan,” he remarked.
He stressed that teamwork was the driving force behind these successes, noting that Pakistan’s economy, once struggling, is now stabilizing and moving toward development.
Shehbaz Sharif praised the contribution of overseas Pakistanis, calling them “true ambassadors” of the country. He said their role in Pakistan’s development has always been commendable and remains vital to its future progress.
